It is reported that BWS will get back together to play the Sub Pop 20th anniversary festival in Seattle...

it looks like a really good line-up. helio sequence, grand archives, ruby suns & no age etc.etc.

too bad it's far from sweden...

2 things I hope for now:

It's not the same band without Dave. It's a bit of a con to call it Beachwood Sparks with no Farmer Dave in the mix. Not trying to ruffle any feathers. It's just a fact based opinion. One of the main things that made the band valid was the chemistry betwen the 4 members. It's all fine and good if old friends want to get together and play again and have fun and make some money but to use the name in order to project the idea and convince people they'll be seeing the same band is a bit akin to Dewey Martin using the Buffalo Springfield name to play any old crap show at some suburban saloon or Mike Love using the Beach Boys name to play at the county fair. Had to say it. Forgive me.

ahh..not quite, dale...dewey or mike love??? you've got to be kidding me..this isn't just "informing", it's borderline vindictive..interpol may have some time in their schedule, and if so, who knows??? are you going to say the shows played with ben knight, or say, neal casal were any less "bws"??? don't "rain parade" on happy folks that are hoping they get to hear songs (played very well, mind you) that maybe they never thought they'd hear..ubsorry, dale, not them..hugs, anyway..

i'm torn but i agree with dave to a certain degree...think of daves vox on songs like 'the sun surrounds me'....just won't be the same without it. regardless, i'll still be there. especially excited for eric's trip, who i'll be seeing a few days later as well in vancouver.

the reunion is just a couple of weeks away now. me and Stavfel who are responsible for this site are unfortunatly not going since we live in Sweden and don't have enough money to fly to Seattle right now. is there anyone frequentyl visiting this site who is attending? it would be awesome to get some information about how the show went, what songs were played and so forth. pictures would be lovely as well!
