The Bon Iver LP has just arrived here in England. Wow! It's so utterly beautiful. I would recommend listening to it for the first time in a darkened room.
Thought they'd be a few BWS fans out there that may have heard it and have an opinion. How many more great bands are there in the US that I've yet to hear about? Also recently got the Sunset Rubdown album, that's also fantastic.
I like Bon Iver as well. It's dark but not overly emo and quite melodic as well. Things seem to be going well for him. Sunset Rubdown are alright, they're playing in my town on friday, might check 'em out. Loads of good bands are coming out of the US this spring. Ruby Suns are really awesome, so are Fleet Foxes (both Sub Pop bands). Also the new Animal Collective EP is cool and The Dodos are a really cool band worth checking out!
