As we’ve mentioned earlier Burger Records is re-issueing The Tyde’s debut Once and The Summer Hits’ Beaches & Canyon compilation on cassette.
Well, they are out now and they are limited to 250 copies each, so hurry up and buy!

The Tarnished Gold was released yesterday and the reviews have been very positive.
Here’s a few more reviews:
“The Beachwood Sparks, last convened in 2003, are back as if they never left, spinning trippy goodtime vibes, ethereal metaphysics and slacked out California pop.”
— Blurt Magazine“Beachwood Sparks make music for and by Californians who love living in California, surfing, and hanging out among the redwoods, and for listeners who have no idea what that’s like but love the sound of soft harmonies and a tastefully placed slide guitar.”
— A.V. Club“The Tarnished Gold moves through space like a guided nature walk—never a hike—drawing upon breathy, summer sounds and endless harmony to craft the perfect soundtrack for its creators’ home state.”
— Paste Magazine
Sub Pop and Yours Truly teamed up and made a little video about the recording of The Tarnished Gold.
Today’s the day! The waiting is over – The Tarnished Gold is finally out.
Here’s what the press have been saying so far:
“The Tarnished Gold is a soundtrack to life’s better moments — introspective mornings spent reclining in a hammock, carefree afternoons strolling along the shoreline, and late evenings of stargazing.”
“The Tarnished Gold sees Beachwood Sparks return sounding fresh and revitalised, delivering an album that more than matches their earlier output.”
“The Tarnished Gold is a lovely, warm-hearted gem, from blissful opener “Forget the Song” through to the delicate farewell of “Goodbye”.”
“The Tarnished Gold is of a piece with their first two albums, but never a pale imitation.”
“The Tarnished Gold, mature, with a revelatory appreciation for the simple life, might prove to be the true spiritual heir to their auspicious 2000 debut: winsome Zen-like roots/rock bursting from the heart with rich, ebullient harmonies, and atmospheric smears of steel guitar amid gentle sun-baked melodies.”
There will be a listening party this evening at The Satellite in LA. The Sparks and guests will be playing records all night long!
There will be a bonus track for The Tarnished Gold called Dolphins & Pelicans available from iTunes.
